Consultations and Workshops

I have spent thousands of hours in the field refining my knowledge of wildlife and bird photography. I want to share what I have learned to help simplify and accelerate your photography journey. I can work with you to identify your photography goals, and make an individualized plan on how to improve from both an artistic and technical perspective. My offerings include but are not limited to:

Photography fundamentals
- Learn how to master exposure, sharpness and composition of your images in the field, by understanding the fundamentals of photography.
Camera settings and use
- Learn how to set up and use your camera to increase your consistency in nailing image exposure and sharpness.
Lightroom editing
- Learn to develop your artistic style and create more compelling images by becoming proficient in Lightroom photo editing software.
Constructive photo critique
- A review and constructive critique of your photos. I help you identify areas for improvement from both an artistic and technical perspective.
Field Workshops
- Join me in the field to learn shooting techniques that will be invaluable in improving your photography.

Free Consultation

I offer a free 30-minute consultation to explore your concerns and areas of interest. We will work together to create an individualized plan for you to help achieve your goals. Depending on your needs and preferences as a student, we will determine if your learning style is best suited for virtual or in-the-field teaching (or both). Private Virtual Lessons

I offer virtual personalized lessons tailored to the individual needs of the student. These sessions are typically structured to begin with a review of the student's portfolio, or recent photos. This review will inform opportunities for improvement from both a technical and artistic perspective. Techniques learned during my virtual lessons can be directly applied in the field to help improve your photography.

Hourly rate: $100
2-hour video call: $160

Private Field Workshops (Calgary area)

My in-the-field photography lessons focus on techniques that will allow you to create great wildlife images consistently. You will learn field techniques that will allow you to get closer to your subject, which is the single most valuable skill to learn to improve your photography. Lessons are offered at sunrise, or before sunset to get the best light conditions for our time together. No experience is required.

Hourly rate: $100
3-hour field workshop: $250

Mastering Lightroom Photo Editing

Adobe Lightroom is the photo editing software used by the majority of wildlife photography hobbyists and professionals today. Whether you have never used Lightroom, or have limited experience, this workshop is designed to help you master the software, develop your artistic style, and create more compelling images.

3 hour workshop: $200
